our laboratory added detection item of peanut allergen

Oct 26,2021

Peanuts belong to the class of pods and contain up to 25% of protein. Many proteins are allergenic, such as peanut globulin and con-arachidin. It can be seen that peanuts represent the most important allergen. For people who allergic to peanuts, the potential peanut allergens in food is a serious problem. It is necessary to pay close attention to cross-contamination during processing.Peanut allergens can not be completely eliminated during the processing of some other products. Therefore, our laboratory added a new detection item of peanut allergen.

Testing Equipment

The new peanut allergen detector used in the laboratory and the peanut rapid detection kit used in Eurofins are highly sensitive. It’ a specialized quantitative analysis kit. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has the advantages of simple operation, rapid processing, large sample size and high sensitivity. It is widely used in the detection of peanut allergens in condiments, grains, biscuits and other foods.

Detection principle

Based on the principle of enzyme-linked immunoassay, the coated antibody in the microplate can directly capture peanut protein. After the sample is extracted, the connected standard samples were added into the micropores coated with antibodies for incubation. After incubating at room temperature for 20 minutes, wash away the residues of the crisis and with the washing solution. Then add the enzyme-labeled secondary antibody, and form a double antibody sandwich structure with peanut protein. After washing again, add the substrate, it forms blue with the enzyme complexthen add stop buffer and turn yellow. The peanut content is directly proportional to the color density.

Sensitivity performance

The detection limit of the kit is 0.1 ppm, and the lower limit of quantification is 1.0 ppm.

Through the detection of peanut allergen, the trace-ability from the raw material to the final product is finally realized in the production process, and reliable test results are obtained timely in the detection of the finished product to monitor whether it contains peanut allergen. In order to control quality problems and reduce the customer's procurement risk and protect the customer's rights.
